ERAI MEMBER
Description of Membership Criteria
Distributors seeking to obtain ERAI Membership status understand they must abide by certain minimum expectations while representing their business as an ERAI Member and/or while engaged in the purchase, sale or use of electronic components when using the ERAI name, logo(s), tag(s), or standard(s) to promote, secure, obtain or defend business transactions.
In order to protect the integrity of ERAI members and your business reputation, the below noted membership requirements will be strictly enforced. Members found in violation of the requirements are subject to membership revocation.
Fundamental to participating in ERAI as a Member is the understanding that a business, in all of its activities, should operate in full compliance with the laws, rules and regulations of the state(s) and/or country(ies) in which it conducts business. Members are encouraged to reach beyond legal compliance by adopting and implementing recognized industry standards including, but not limited to, Quality Control, Counterfeit Detection and Vendor Qualification.
ERAI Membership and the ERAI Member Tag are available exclusively to Independent and/or Franchised Distributors of electronic components who exemplify, promote and adhere to the minimum following criteria:
- Must submit a completed Membership Application.
- Provide a minimum of 7 verifiable trade references.
- Provide ERAI with updated bank and trade details upon request.
- Maintain a good reputation within the ERAI organization.
- Notify ERAI of all business name changes, affiliations and changes of address.
- Members are asked to keep their ERAI profile up-to-date.
- Members agree that it is unacceptable to sell counterfeit or remarked parts.
- Provide documentation to substantiate their business has been in operation for a minimum of 1 year. (Requirement applicable to New Members only).
Companies in business for less than one year may utilize the services offered by ERAI via the Participant Program but may not use the ERAI Member Tag until such a time the applicant can provide proof their business meets all applicable membership requirements.
- Members understand the importance of conducting a visual inspection of material purchased and sold. We minimally recommend that Members incorporate the standards listed in the ERAI Top Ten Inspection report in order to avoid shipping nonconforming material and resolve disputes.
- Members are encouraged to add known counterfeit, remarked and nonconforming goods to the ERAI substandard and counterfeit parts listings.
- Members are encouraged to reference the ERAI Reported Company, Counterfeit and Substandard Parts Listings prior to purchasing or selling material in an effort to alleviate financial losses and fraud.
- Members are willing to offer a 90-day or longer warranty against faulty product unless otherwise discussed and so documented by both the Buyer and Seller and reflected in both the purchase order and invoice agreements pertaining to the transaction.
A Member that is no longer able or willing to meet these criteria may have their membership status modified to that of Participant. Any Members found to have intentionally or fraudulently used their ERAI Member status or who have misrepresented their ability to adhere to the criteria may be subject to membership revocation. ERAI Membership status is available at the discretion of the ERAI and may be terminated without advance notice, reason and without a refund of membership dues.
